A commissioned piece of the client’s initial.
Materials: Adobe Illustrator.
Process: I created the 3D font by adding vector gradients and incorporated flames to make it visually engaging.
Ebony choral ensemble
An emblem that depicts the religious aspect the choir group.
Material: Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop.
Process: I combined and simplified a dove and an angel into one fluid form and added a matching font. Also, I made the font glow and transparent in some parts, to look similar to a spiritual flame.
Jensei designs
An upscaled version of the client’s original design.
Materials: Pencil & Adobe Illustrator
Process: I made the font mirror jewelry wire and the beads realistic, to emphasize the client’s job description—a jeweler. Also, the patron wanted two background color variations. The design was used on their website and business card.
Pieces In Place Consulting
Revised and updated logo and business card.
Materials: Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop.
Process: I came up with the idea of using puzzle pieces, fitting together, and lightbulbs to depict the client’s motto—helping people put their lives together. The patron wanted different designs for the use of advertising their novelties: pens, magnets, mugs, and sticky pads
New Britain Engine 5
An emblem for fire station’s truck and clothing.
Materials: Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Process: My reference materials were wolves, cartoons, and comic books. Also, New Britain’s baseball team mascot is a bee so, I used a honeycomb pattern and the color yellow to represent the town. Plus, I used the red color to portray the fire station and the stars for America.
Kingdom Coupon
An promo ad for a coupon class. The patron wanted an image that would represent a kingdom and the colors of royalty.
Materials: Vector stock image & Adobe Illustrator.
Process: I altered the vector image: the edges were rounded, the color turned into gold, and I added thinner white lines, to convey highlights and dark gradients as shading.
Command
A brand for a screen printing business.
Materials: Adobe Illustrator.
Process: I decided to create a silhouette vector of a cannon and use a bold font that would match the image. The patron was ecstatic over the work, since it embodied everything they envisioned.
Inner Wellness Counseling
A business card design for a child counselor.
Materials: Adobe Illustrator.
Process: I decided to go with a, hanging, business sign that would be seen on a building. Also, I placed a child receiving a building block, in the center, to be symbolic of the client’s profession. In addition, the patron was impressed with my work.
JL Steele Earth Solutions
A logo and business card for tree removal and landscaping business.
Materials: Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop.
Process: I included an excavator bucket and teeth to represent the client’s business—earth solutions. The teeth created projection lines that control viewers’ eyes to go down then up throughout the front and back of the business card.
Family Day
An ad for a fall venue.
Materials: Adobe Illustrator.
Process: I wanted the design to be clean and easily understood; the leaves and colors would illustrate the season of fall and “I” and “L” would depict a family—parent and child.
