Female leprechaun
A pencil, caricature, drawing of friend/coworker. In my internet searches, I incorporated several aspects from multiple references: the pose, the buckles, the cane, the tophat, the cuffs, the clovers, and the sparkles.
Talkative runners
Pencil. The women are engrossed in their conversation to the point where there is a lack of awareness. Also, they seem frozen in time.
Exhausted runner
Pencil and ink. The drawing is a caricature of a person I see outside on my daily walks. I wanted to capture the exhaustion and tireless pursuit to stay fit by purposely showing exaggerated details of the subject’s: streaming sweat, furrow brows, dead eyes, panting mouth, scrubby face, and swaying limbs.
Startled spouse
Ink and pencil. Caricature drawing of my wife exercising. In the art depiction, she is surprised at something that is about to occur. She appears to be gasping in shock.
Taking an order
Three anthropomorphic animals are in a herbivore restaurant, drawn in pencil. The horse and the ostrich are on a date. The colly is taking their order. The atmosphere is vibrant and positive.
Scared witless
Ink. Cartoon sketch of my wife, as a kid. She is so angry she is scaring everybody around her, even the animals and bugs. I put my initials in the drawing.
Half interested
Ink. Manga style characters expressing different emotions and thoughts; the woman on the right is shy and focused. The woman in the center is “thirsty” for the man on the left. The guy wants attention and is cocky.
Tiny ballerina
Pencil. Manga style drawing, from a picture of my niece, when she was young. When she was little, I use to draw a lot of caricatures of her for fun.
Making a move
Pencil. Manga style drawing with warped body proportions. They are in exercise clothes and both into each other and themselves.
Napping dog family
Pencil and ink. Character designs for a children’s book, an animal fantasy genre.
Cartoon aliens
Pencil. Cartoon styled characters. The characters are mascots for a business with a sci-fi logo.
Sitting on the edge of disaster
Pencil. Rough sketch for a client, an alien in thought after destroying the world.
To smithereens
Pencil. Destroyed earth, spewing out lava and rocks, and a cartoon sitting on top of it all.
Trifecta elements
Pencil. Ice, fire, and earth shown in human forms.
